Direct your support where it matters most to you by supporting Friends of Wisconsin Public Television’s Focus Funds with a gift of $5,000 or more. Your gift to a Focus Fund targets your giving to a specific area of interest, allowing you to make a difference in a key area.

Gifts to Focus Funds support the development and production of new programs and facilitate service to the community in the area that you choose. Unlike our endowed funds, Focus Funds are made available to the station in the near term, fueling innovation and providing flexible resources to meet critical needs.

PBS Kids
Research confirms that PBS KIDS prepares children for success in school and in life. WPT delivers PBS KIDS media to early learners and families through a 24/7 broadcast channel, livestream and digital options, and an educational game platform. Together, this triple play serves all children with high-quality and barrier-free educational content to encourage learning and school readiness.

Curriculum-Based Education Materials
Serving as an efficient, innovative producer and distributor of high-quality multimedia education resources, WPT Education is a trusted partner to parents, educators, school districts and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. WPT Education supports learning through development and distribution of cost-free instructional resources for grades pre-K through 12.

WisconsinFirstNations.org
This collection of resources provides educators with accurate and authentic educational materials for teaching about the American Indian Nations of Wisconsin. The project assists educators in fulfilling Wisconsin Education Act 31, the statutory requirement that all school districts provide instruction in the history, culture and tribal sovereignty of the American Indian nations in the state.

Wisconsin Hometown Stories
Supporting the Wisconsin Hometown Stories documentary series, WPT Education collaborates with K-12 educators to produce multimedia classroom resources, helping students see themselves reflected in the local history.

Here & Now
Frederica Freyberg anchors Here & Now on WPT at 7:30 p.m. every Friday evening. Featuring timely interviews with news­makers, in-depth reports on the issues affecting the state, and a growing reach across social media platforms, Here & Now expands the reach and accessibility of independent Journalism in Wisconsin.

National and International Programs
WPT is committed to offering high-quality, trusted news and public affairs programs to viewers across the state through programs including PBS NewsHour, BBC World News, Washington Week and FRONTLINE.

WisconsinVote.org
WisconsinVote.org is an essential and trusted tool for news, information and vot­ing resources in state and national elections. The project includes broadcasts of interviews, hosted candidate debates and forums, and candidate profiles and state­ments. Community conversations across the state and key voting information are delivered on multiple platforms including mobile devices.

Governor’s Addresses and More
WPT provides Wisconsin citizens direct and live access to major policy speeches by the governor through broadcasts and web streams. Coverage includes the State of the Budget Address and annual State of the State Address. WPT also broadcasts and livestreams the annual State of the Tribes Address and Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration from the Wisconsin State Capitol Building in Madison.

Around the Farm Table
Around the Farm Table connects viewers with Wisconsin’s farm landscape, highlighting Midwestern farmers and artisan food producers. The program is designed to uplift our understanding of sustainable farming practices through stories, recipes and information all delivered in an inviting, fun and entertaining style.

Wisconsin From the Air
Combining stunning aerial video captured by both helicopter and drone, WPT presents our state’s treasures and beloved landmarks from above. In Wisconsin From the Air, Wisconsin Winter From the Air, and Wisconsin Water From the Air viewers soar along the shore of Lake Michigan to the tip of Door County, fly overhead at the American Birkebeiner Race and Lambeau Field, and skim the waters of Lake Superior, the Mississippi River, and more. Wisconsin From the Air celebrations hundreds of iconic Wisconsin locations all from a breathtaking perspective rarely seen — and one that audiences love.

Veteran’s Stories
With project including Wisconsin World War II Stories, Wisconsin Korean War Stories, and Wisconsin Vietnam Stories, WPT offered veterans a platform to share their stories of triumph and loss. WPT’s War Stories work has comprised documentary series, classroom learning tools, in-depth web resources, traveling photo exhibits, books, and community events including LZ Lambeau®, a Welcome Home event for Vietnam veterans held in Green Bay in 2010.

A series of films featuring the traditional oral histories, and a rich collection of educational videos, classroom resources, and lesson plans introduce the eleven sovereign American Indian Nations of Wisconsin.

Madeline Island Chamber Music Camp
A one-hour documentary and performance featuring the distinctive Madeline Island Music Camp, with its unique focus on chamber music. Viewers discover how students are immersed in the culture, values, dynamics, and repertoire of the quartet format and the continuous improvement and exploration that is necessary to reach excellence.

High School Musical Theater Jerry Awards
Overture Center for the Arts’ High School Musical Theater Awards program encourages, recognizes and honors excellence in high school musical theater. The year-long program offers Wisconsin high school students exceptional performance and production learning opportunities. WPT films and livestreams the ceremony at WPT.org to viewers across the country. The performance footage becomes the basis of a highlights program that raises the visibility of the arts, celebrates the creative achievements of Wisconsin’s youth and offers statewide audiences a front-row seat in the comfort of their own home.

Online Video for Music Educators
Segments of WPT’s collection of recorded concerts are repurposed for use in classrooms. Increasingly, educators are using media to supplement classroom activities, yet the current available options don’t always meet their needs. YPI video resources are created in partnership with the Wisconsin School Music Association and are designed to meet teachers’ needs. This high-quality content is easily accessible and aligned with state academic standards.
