Bolz Young Artist Competition Finale Broadcasts on WPT March 14

Four of Wisconsin's most talented young musicians will perform in concert with the Madison Symphony Orchestra (MSO) as Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) and Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) offer broadcast coverage of Wisconsin Young Artists Compete: The Final Forte. Full live coverage of the concert will air on WPT 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 14. It will also be available via livestream on wpt.org and broadcast live on WPR.

An encore broadcast will air on WPT 3 p.m. Sunday, March 25.

The Final Forte finalists will appear with Music Director John DeMain and the MSO as they vie for top honors in the 2018 Bolz Young Artist Competition. Angela Fitzgerald, host of WPT's Wisconsin Life, and Lori Skelton, host of WPR's Afternoon Classics, will co-host the event.

Each finalist will perform a concerto selection; a panel of judges will award a range of scholarships to the competitors.
·         Violinist Arianna Brusubardis, a homeschooled senior from Dousman, will perform Movement III of Sibelius' Violin Concerto in D minor.
·         Pianist Jessica Jiang, a freshman at Madison's James Madison Memorial High School, will perform Movements I and III of Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto in G minor.
·         Violinist Isabelle Krier, a junior at Oregon High School, will perform Movement III of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D Major.
·         Violinist Hannah White, a homeschooled senior from Germantown, will perform Movement I of Saint-Saens' Violin Concerto in B minor.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the free live performance in Overture Hall at the Overture Center in Madison. Call 608-257-3734 or visit madisonsymphony.org online to reserve a seat. Audience members must be seated by 6:45 p.m.
