The Great Wisconsin Baking Challenge Returns Sunday, June 17

Bake along with Britain's best — and add a Wisconsin twist! Starting Sunday, June 17, Wisconsin Public Television once again invites fans of The Great British Baking Show, baking enthusiasts and anyone who wants to sweeten up their summer to enter our virtual tent for the second-annual Great Wisconsin Baking Challenge. The Challenge is a fun, free baking adventure open to all ages and skill levels.
More information can be found at: wpt.org/WisconsinBaking

Season 5 of the international phenomenon The Great British Baking Show premieres across the WPT viewing area 6 p.m. Sunday, June 24. Following the kickoff on June 17, The Great Wisconsin Baking Challenge runs parallel to the program each week, with baking challenges that relate to each episode.

Whether you can build a showstopper with your eyes shut or are trying a Paul Hollywood recipe for the first time, we want to see your best attempts at greatness — even if they fall flat. The Great Wisconsin Baking Challenge isn't a competition: Participants are simply encouraged to try something new and share their baking victories and misadventures. Submissions will be featured each week on wpt.org.

Last year, The Great Wisconsin Baking Challenge featured hundreds of bakes from participants across Wisconsin and around the country. One baker even joined from Australia! Incredibly, 12 "Star Bakers" joined us throughout the summer for all 10 challenges.

The first challenge — inspired by the June 24 premiere episode, "Cakes" – will be announced June 17. Look for the details of each baking prompt on the official website at wpt.org/WisconsinBaking. The website also features an archive of all of last year's bakes, for those looking for inspiration.

After each prompt is announced, participants are encouraged to fill out a short form on the website and share their project's progress on social media using the #WisconsinBakingChallenge hashtag.
Throughout the 10-part challenge, WPT will feature bakers on the website, as well as in weekly blog posts and on social media.

This summer, everyone is welcome under WPT's virtual tent. Get ready to try new techniques, and let your creations shine!
